One of my favourite books, Geeks and Geezers: How Era, Values and Defining Moments Shape Leaders written by leadership guru Warren Bennis & co-author, Robert J. Thomas, has been top of my mind these days.  Not because I read it many years ago on a beach in the Bahamas (one of the only non-fictions I read on the beach), and not because it added to my vocabulary —“neoteny”, but because it looks at the defining moments that shape leaders of various generations. I’ve been thinking about the latest generation of young people, generation Z aged 10-25 and how the pandemic will shape them as leaders.

It’s a topic that we may touch upon at the Library Leaders Summit @ Computers in Libraries in March 2022 or at the development leader program Rebecca directs, LLEAD. I would love to hear your thoughts.

How WILL the pandemic shape the next generation of leaders — their mindsets, thinking and assumptions?
